Micah "Honey Roy"
Carter's music career began in the streets of New Orleans, LA
where he played harmonica for tips. After getting some curbside
lessons, he hitchhiked to the Florida Keys and stayed for the
winter. After returning to his hometown of Evansville, IN, he
fronted his first band, Space Cake, which was an inspiration.
They moved to Bloomington, IN and quickly disbanded. Micah then
put together a new group and they received the honor of being
voted best local band by a readerís poll.
As a reward the Bloomington Voice
sent them to Memphis, TN where they opened for Tonic at Beale
Street Park during the Crossroads Music Showcase. They also
opened for Train in Bloomington, IN right before they became
superstars. He left Indiana to study music theory and marketing
in Oregon. While snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor, he earned his
degree and was once again voted best local band. In Bend, OR, he
recorded the first CD which actually captured his sound. The
songs from that CD continue to sell on the Internet on ITunes
and CD Baby.
Now as a father of two boys and a
girl he is passing down his musical heritage just as his father
did with him. He and his Dad continue to play all of the Honey
Roy Band gigs together, and Micah prays that his father will be
around long enough to see Roy Sr.'s grandkids join them onstage.
He's got CD & T-shirts that heís selling at his live shows.
